Rug Hooking Studio
Limited Edition Prints
by Deanne
Fitzpatrick
The
images for these prints were chosen from rugs I created . Each print is signed, titled and
numbered, and issued in limited editions of . The colour, and
clarity of the images are clear and crisp, and matched to the original
hooked rug. When studio visitors see them they often think they are miniature hooked rugs under glass because the detail and texture are
captured so purely. When we went to the printers to proof the colour, I
was really pleased when the pressman asked me what kind of painting
technique I used to get the textured effect. I decided to make the
prints so that my images could be more accessible, and enjoyed by more
people. A hooked rug takes a long time, and a lot of hand work to make.
These prints are an affordable way for many people to enjoy my
images in their home. Each print is 8 by 10 inches, and matted to fit
an 11 by 14 inch frame. 11 by 14" frames are a standard size frame that
can be purchased at all retailers that sell frames. To order call us at

The
Stories
The Saltwater Dance
One of my
greatest joys is that I am able to live in Atlantic Canada, and this
rug is a reflection of that. Life here is slower, some may say it's
sweeter. There may be a few sacrifices, but I have found every one of
them is worth the smell of the salt air, the colour of the marshes, and
the wind on my face. I love the open spaces around me. I relish the
nearness of the water on all sides of me. As a girl I took these things
for granted. As a woman I dance because I have them.
The Lookout
I
grew up on a hill overlooking the water, and watching it was my
pastime. That is a natural part of life by the water, you watch it and
plan your day by the rhythms of the tides. The omnipotence of the water
is clear and understood by coastal people. It is said that you should
never take the water for granted because it can only be counted on to
change.
Fundraising for
Community Groups
If you
are
part of a community group or organization that needs to
fundraise and you are interested in selling my reproduction
prints as a fundraiser for your organization. Having worked with many
community groups to raise funds , I have set up an easy, and fair
fundraising system for groups that want to work with artists to raise
funds for their activities, capital campaigns, charities etc. As an
artist it is a wonderful way of bringing your images to a larger
community of people. For more information you can contact me at
